2. Website delivery and security
This website is hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The provider for our location is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. Static files are stored in Amazon S3 in the Frankfurt region. Amazon CloudFront delivers them through a global network; AWS WAF helps protect against malicious requests.
When you visit, data processed includes your IP address, the time, the requested resource and technical request information, such as browser information and, where applicable, the referring page. This enables delivery, troubleshooting and protection against attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and reliable operation.
The website itself does not maintain a visitor database or store its own access logs. The provider may generate technical operational and security data. Retention depends on what is necessary for operation, error analysis and abuse prevention, as well as statutory obligations. Data relating to a specific security incident may be needed until it has been investigated and for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
3. Browser language preference
The homepage and these legal and contact pages are displayed in English by default. You can choose German, English, French or Spanish yourself. Language is not automatically inferred from browser or location data. The website does not track your location or determine your country from your IP address.
Only when you choose a language yourself is it saved in your browser's local storage under cargo-tempo-language. This value contains only the selected language and is not transmitted to a server by the website. It remains stored until you replace it with another selection or delete the website data in your browser.
Access to this storage serves only the language function you explicitly requested (Section 25(2), point 2 TDDDG). To the extent that personal data is processed, this is based on our legitimate interest in providing the requested language under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Cookies, audience measurement and advertising
This website currently uses no analytics, marketing or tracking cookies and does not use audience measurement or personalised advertising. If its functionality changes, this notice will be updated before those features are used and any required consent will be obtained.
5. Links to Steam
The website includes links to the Cargo Tempo Steam store page. No data is transmitted through those links unless you open them. Opening a link takes you away from this website; the respective external provider is responsible for subsequent processing.
6. Email contact and Spaceship
You can contact us at info@koppwerk.com. We process your email address, your name if supplied, and the content and any attachments of your message to handle your enquiry. Please send only information necessary for that purpose. We cannot reply without a reachable contact address.
Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contractual or pre-contractual enquiries. Other enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in communication under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Messages are retained for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and document its resolution. Further retention occurs only where required by law or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Domain administration, DNS and the email mailbox are provided by Spaceship, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. For email traffic, the provider processes sender and recipient addresses, message content and technical delivery information in particular. An email link opens your own email application; the website does not send a message itself.
7. Recipients and international transfers
AWS and Spaceship receive data as part of the services described above and may engage sub-processors for those services. We do not share visitor data for advertising or data trading.
The global CloudFront network and the use of Spaceship may involve processing outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, particularly in the USA. Storing website files in Frankfurt therefore does not mean that all processing takes place exclusively in Germany.
The providers' data processing terms provide for EU Standard Contractual Clauses as safeguards for relevant international transfers where no applicable adequacy decision exists. Information and contractual terms are available from the AWS GDPR Center and the Spaceship Data Processing Addendum. You can also request information about the safeguards applicable to your data via our contact address.
8. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
9. Right to lodge a complaint
Under Article 77 GDPR, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the place of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for our location is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
10. Date and changes
Last updated: 28 August 2026. This notice covers the website and contact enquiries, not any future data processing within the game. It will be revised if the services used, legal bases or statutory requirements change.
